Job overview

Required for September 2022, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Subject Leader of Food Preparation and Nutrition, able to lead a strong department and teach to Key Stage 3, GCSE and Level 3 Diploma. Unfortunately, this post is not suitable for ECTs.  

Results in Food Preparation and Nutrition are excellent; in 2019, 86% achieved a grade 4 or above at GCSE. 

If you have a very good knowledge and understanding of the subject and you are an excellent teacher looking to develop your career in a supportive and progressive environment, we would welcome an application from you. Opportunities for personal development are excellent.

Potential candidates may also wish to know that our admissions policy enables the school to prioritise the admission of children of staff recruited to posts in which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy (converter) which is oversubscribed and has an excellent reputation for academic achievement and positive school ethos. The school has had four ‘outstanding’ Ofsted reports, with Grade 1 across all areas, but we are not complacent and as such the provision for professional learning and development is something of which we are all very proud.

About Ranelagh Church of England School

Ranelagh Church of England School is a mixed Church of England academy secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 1-18. It is located in Bracknell, Berkshire, and has about 990 pupils.

The school was founded by lord Ranelagh, and can trace its roots back to 1709. The school became a Church of England academy, supported by the diocese of Oxford, in 2011. It is also a “Beacon School”.

The motto of the Ranelagh School is: Coelitus Mihi Vires, which translates as “My Strength is from Heaven”. The school aims to develop the following characteristics in students: confidence, resilience, curiosity, empathy, creativity and independence.
