Subject Leader - Psychology
The post is full-time permanent position for a teacher with enthusiasm and drive who wishes to work in an academic sixth form college. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to lead a team of dedicated and innovative teachers who promote a lively, student-centred learning environment where a strong commitment to meeting the needs of individual students is of paramount importance.
The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through continuing professional development and in-service training.
There are currently 330 students in year 12 and 250 in year 13 and these numbers continue to grow each year, making psychology the one of the largest subjects in the College. We are teaching the new Edexcel A Level psychology specification for which appropriate support and training will be provided. In addition to timetabled lessons, subject staff work with students in dedicated workshop time to consolidate and extend their learning. The majority of our students choose to attend university after their time at college, with many seeking courses in psychology or related courses.
