Job overview

Thank you for your interest in Supply work with Townsville Catholic Education (TCE) in 2022.

To ensure that we have your current contact details and preferences as well as eligibility for Supply employment, you are required to successfully complete the following:

STEP 1 - Registration Form

Please complete the online registration form (at the bottom of this page). To be eligible for this role, you will need to have:

  • Working rights in Australia - ie Australian birth certificate or Australian Passport or Australian Citizenship Certificate or valid working visa
  • For teachers, you need a current Professional Registration with Queensland College of Teachers
  • For non-teachers, you need a current Paid Blue Card
  • If applicable, documents explaining any change to your name.

Allow 3 days for us to review your application.

STEP 2 - Reference Check

In order to make an informed decision on your suitability for the position as a Supply Teacher or Supply School Officer, Townsville Catholic Education will require to conduct two reference checks. Preferably, one of your nominated professional referees is your most recent supervisor. Your referees will be contacted via email to complete an online Referee Report. Please ensure that you include their email address in your application form.

A professional referee is a person that can provide us with detail in respect to your work ethic, experience and competency. We reserve the right to request an additional referee if we believe a person has not been fully forthcoming.

Allow 5 days for us to conduct the reference checks. However, this may take longer dependent on how responsive your referees are.

STEP 3 - Onboarding

When you have satisfied the recruitment requirement as a Supply, you will be notified when your application is forwarded to HR Onboarding. HR Onboarding will prepare and issue your Supply contract. You will need to review your contract and provide us with your acceptance along with the completed onboarding documents listed in your offer letter. HR Onboarding will then process your acceptance in our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

Allow HR Onboarding 3 days to prepare your contract and 3 days to process your acceptance and onboarding documents.

STEP 4 - Compliance Training

All employees are required to complete mandatory training such as Student Protection Training, Workplace Health and Safety training etc. There are seven compliance training modules and will take approximately six (6) hours to complete them.

Once HR On-boarding has processed your acceptance and onboarding documents, your supply login details (ie supply email address, username and password) will be created and issued to you. Information about the compliance training and the link to access them will be emailed to your supply email address. You are required to complete ALL the compliance training online within the specific timeframe. Failure to comply will result to cancellation of your Supply registration.

Finally, when you have completed the Compliance Training, your profile will be added to the Datajug. The Datajug is a Supply List database and the schools within the Townsville Diocese have access to find suitable Supply.  The database contains your current personal information, your preferences (ie location, teaching level and subjects) and availability. Once you have been added to the Datajug, you can approach the school for supply work opportunities.

Please allow us 2 days to process your details in Datajug.
