(Monday - Thursday 7:50am - 2:50pm, Friday 7:45am - 1:15pm)

Required as soon as possible, The Halifax Academy would like to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Support Assistant to support a student with a visual impairment within our Primary Phase

The successful candidate will have knowledge of the Foundation Stage along with experience of supporting students with educational and complex needs. We require the support assistant to support the class teacher in the development and implementation of various strategies to facilitate learning in line with the students’ needs and abilities. The successful applicant will have an understanding of how young children learn and make progress. They will also be great team players, good communicators and dedicated to raising the achievement of our students.

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • improving learning and teaching
  • working as part of a team but using their own initiative
  • motivating and inspiring our pupil’s to raise achievement
  • tracking pupils individual performance and implementing intervention strategies

The Halifax Academy is a high performing 4-16 all-through Academy in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. It was inspected by Ofsted in September 2017 being judged as good in all areas. Outcomes are outstanding at KS4 and place the academy in the top 15% of all schools nationally with regard to progress. Early Years Provision is good.
