Job overview

Rethinking education,
helping tomorrow’s citizens flourish.

Drawing upon our partnership with the University of Birmingham and their world-leading research and best-practice resources, focusing on learning without limits, and combining our own diverse experience in education, the University of Birmingham School is setting an example of what’s truly possible for secondary school education – one that gives character development as much attention as academic success.

As the University of Birmingham School approaches full capacity in 2020, we again need to recruit well-qualified, talented and ambitious Targeted Intervention Assistants to join our SEND team who are committed to self-improvement, with the skills and enthusiasm to work closely within the department to support our young people with SEND and support our teachers to remove barriers to learning.

We have a number of roles available. As a Targeted Intervention Assistant, you will have worked in a secondary setting with pupils with a range of SEND, physical disabilities, cognition and learning needs, ASD and wheelchair users. You will support pupils academically and socially in and out of class, prepare resources, support with off-site trips and undertake all intimate personal care as necessary. You will work with our Literacy, Numeracy and ASD leads and external agencies and in close partnership with the family.

We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School. In return, we will recognise your contribution through an enhanced package of pay and benefits subject to performance.
