About the Role

This position at St Patrick’s offers exciting challenges in several different directions: Industrial Technology (Timber), Technology Mandatory, Visual Arts, Humanities and Physical Activity and Sports Study (PASS).

A suitably qualified TAS teacher with ‘other strings to their bow’ is invited to apply for this full-time position. There is considerable scope for flexibility and negotiation for the right effective classroom practitioner.

For early career teachers, the school offers extensive professional support and guidance in implementing and developing a professional portfolio to meet NESA requirements.

This position is temporary in nature because the substantive occupant (the incumbent) is taking parental leave.

Essential Criteria

    • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus
    • Set and maintain clear behavioural and learning expectations for students
    • Develop curriculum-based programs to outline instructional activities
    • Prepare and deliver lesson materials, and evaluate and give feedback to students
    • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
    • Create and keep accurate records, as required for a range of purposes
    • Participate in on-going professional learning that supports and advances best practice
    • Manage student behaviour and support student well-being in accordance with St Patrick’s pastoral care guidelines
    • Build professional relationships and exercise open and respectful communication with students, families and all school staff
    • Work collaboratively with peers in maintaining a positive and stimulating learning environment for all
