Position Information 

Melville High School is located on Dunghutti land in the Macleay Valley serving approximately 600 students with a student Aboriginal population of over 30%. It is a comprehensive, coeducational school, with a strong focus on student growth and achievement, quality teaching, restorative practices and wellbeing. Opportunities are provided in academic, sporting, cultural, creative and technological learning areas and programs to develop social and employment skills are a focus. In 2021 Melville High School joined the Connected Communities Strategy which aims to improve outcomes for Aboriginal students and therefore all students.

Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach careers or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in the Careers Adviser qualifications approved by the New South Wales Department of Education.

Demonstrated ability to provide information, guidance and advice to help students explore their education, career paths, and post school options.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with students, parents, teachers, employers, community agencies and training providers.

Demonstrated ability to cater for a diverse range of students including students from low Socio-Economic backgrounds, Indigenous Students and students with Disabilities
