Teaching ServiceCampsie Public School is a large school in the Central Business District of Campsie, adjacent to local shops and facilities. Campsie Public School serves a diverse multicultural community where 97% of our 660 students come from over 40 language backgrounds other than English. Our school timetable ensures a wide curriculum choice including languages, the arts and physical education. The specific literacy and numeracy needs of all students are prioritised through effective curriculum differentiation (K–6). We pursue excellence in every aspect of our curricular and extra-curricular progams and provide high quality education in a supportive environment so that each child is able to function and succeed in a changing and challenging world.
Campsie Public School is one of four Bilingual Schools in NSW, and the only Korean Bilingual School. In addition to the Korean Bilingual Porgram on offer to the students there are three additional community languages other than English (CLOTE), as well as five other languages offered as a Language Other Than English (LOTE) or through a club. Many students at Campsie Public School study at least one language in addition to English with some students studying more than one language. Our CLOTE program is taught through a CLIL (Content Language Integrated Learning) approach, where students learn regular curriculum content in the target language, during their allocated community language time.
