Job overview

We are a small family run independent school for students with special educational needs aged between 11 and 16 years old. As we are a SEN school so have students with various educational  needs as well as looked after children who all present with different challenges. Therefore experience of teaching and managing the behaviour of LAC children and children with special needs is preferable. The school is part of a busy equine yard which forms part of our education for our students so an interest in animals is also preferred but not required.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic part-time teacher to start as soon as possible. The successful applicant will be required to plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons to our students following our curriculum. Applicants will be required to teach multiple subjects to our students.

We require applicants to:

  • Have experience working with LAC children and children with special needs.
  • Have experience of managing challenging behaviour in LAC children and children with special needs.
  • Uphold our Behaviour policy and help students to improver their behaviour in a positive manner.
  • Be Adaptable to fit themselves and their lessons to meet the needs of our students  and to try to get the best out of them.
  • Be willing to meet the differing needs of our students
  • Be Innovative and interactive with Lesson plans and to maintain high standards of teaching and professionalism.
  • Be Available to provide sickness cover where needed and to attend additional training or meetings which may be arranged outside of school hours.
  • Be willing to take additional training
  • Be flexible within their role depending on needs of the school and students
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and to promote the wellbeing of students at all times

We review candidates on receipt of application and we will interview applicants prior to the job closing.
