About St Anthony's Parish School

St Anthony’s School is a co-educational Catholic primary School, catering for students from Years Prep through to Year 6. The school is located in Dimbulah, Queensland and is an integral part of the Cairns Diocese and the Parish of St Anthony’s. 

The school first opened in 1966 with 64 enrolled students, enrolments fluctuated over the years and peaked in 1973 with 143 students, with many from migrant families. Today the school has approximately 54 students enrolled.

St Anthony’s School has a wide range of modern facilities preparing students for life beyond the 21st Century classroom, these include flip cams, iPads, iPods, laptops and desktops as well as interactive whiteboards in every learning space. The School also has a large undercover multi-purpose built court and a library. 

Curriculum

The curriculum at St Anthony’s is taught with a hands-on approach and students are encouraged to utilise the range of technology on offer in each area of the curriculum. The School runs a ‘Better Buddies Program’ in which older students are role models and support other children in the first years of school, providing a stronger relationship between students.

The school is dedicated to provide a learning environment fostering a community of faith that openly recognises Christ and seeks to live and proclaim His gospel message.
