Position Information 

Murray High School is located in Lavington in the city of Albury, on the NSW/Victorian border, within the culturally rich Wiradjuri nation. The school draws from a diverse community, with 10% of the student population being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and a further 10% of students from refugeee backgrounds. The school has a total of 720 students.

Our welfare and student conduct practices are built on the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) framework and the school is undergoing the implementation of Curiosity and Powerful Learning (CPL) as the basis for our learning strategies.

Murray High School enjoys strong connections with the local community, including Charles Sturt and La Trobe Universities, and schools in our network are highly and mutually supportive. The school is well known for its staff collegiality across all sectors of teaching, non-teaching and support personnel.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

​Approval to teach Geography 7-10.

Demonstrated capacity and/or willingness to teach Work Studies.

Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural, wellbeing and educational needs of students from diverse backgrounds, including from EAL/D and Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families.

Ability to work collaboratively within the faculty, the whole school and with community stakeholders to achieve positive student outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to implement effective classroom practices and behaviour management strategies, and develop innovative teaching programs that contribute to a positive and inclusive learning culture

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
