Position Information 

South Grafton High School is a rural, comprehensive, coeducational high school with an enrolment of 670 students. A significant number of our students are from low SES backgrounds and 24% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. We aim to foster successful learners who are confident, creative individuals and active, informed citizens. This is achieved through sustained, continuous improvement and development of leadership potential, whilst embedding our core Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) values.

Our school provides learning environments that cater for individual student learning needs, as well as opportunities that allow all students to develop to their full potential. We have four MC classes, an ED class and a Tutorial class.

Grafton is ideally situated on the Clarence River in the heart of the Clarence Valley and within easy driving distance of Coffs Harbour, Yamba and Maclean.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

  1. Approval to teach Legal Studies and Ancient History. Willingness to teach Business Studies, Commerce and Geography (7 to 10).
  2. Ability to cater for a diverse range of students through differentiated, innovative and effective teaching practices that challenge and engage students.
  3. Capacity to work effectively and collaboratively with the faculty to develop quality teaching and learning programs
  4. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
  5. Knowledge of and commitment to the Departments Aboriginal Education Polies.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
