Dagenham Park is a mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 multi-cultural Voluntary Controlled Church of England school looking to appoint a Teacher in Charge of the Extended Project Qualification. Applicants must be qualified, dedicated, enthusiastic and can be from any subject discipline. EPQ is taught to the whole year 12 cohort and has highly successful outcomes. Experience of teaching the EPQ Level 3, being a Supervisor or Coordinator of EPQ is desirable.

We are looking for a colleague who can demonstrate outstanding communication and is able to recognise the talents in every student with high aspirations for all. The successful applicant will join an extremely dedicated and creative sixth form team who make valuable contributions to the continual improvement of the sixth form and be intrinsic in supporting students with their UCAS applications.

This is an exciting time to join the DP6 team which has an inclusive curriculum and esteemed destinations for its students with the majority progressing onto prestigious HE or high-quality apprenticeships. The sixth form prides itself on its Aspiration, UCAS and Enrichment programmes which include strong links with Russell Group Universities, The Duke of Edinburgh and The DP6 Basketball Academy as well as academic opportunities such as Science Crest Awards.

We moved into our state-of-the-art building in 2012 which includes a dedicated sixth form area which will soon be developed further to include a garden. This Permanent role, starting in September 2021 on inner London pay would be the ideal role for someone with high standards and expectations who has experience of teaching EPQ looking for the opportunity to develop their experience within a sixth form. It is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills while contributing to a team with raising standards at its core.

The school, who achieved the Ofsted rating ‘Good’ in January 2020, is located within easy reach of central London via the District Line and easily accessible via the A13. There is a high-quality induction and extensive in-house CPD program available to staff as part of our strong commitment to staff development with a wide range of experience in the DP6 team. All staff have access to the gym, café facilities and regular social events organised by the Wellbeing Committee.

Dagenham Park Church of England School continues to be a good school.

Leaders have reviewed what they want pupils to learn and when they want them to learn  it in all subject areas. This means that learning is planned and sequenced so that pupils  can remember more and develop their skills. Leaders’ actions mean that pupils achieve  well at this school. Teachers check that pupils can recall previous lessons through ‘do  now’ activities. Teachers implement leaders’ plans well. Pupils’ books include good-quality  work and show how the pupils are learning the planned subject content. Teachers and  pupils assess the work in books and pupils correct their mistakes and misunderstandings
