All teachers are observed by fellow scientists, these lessons are not graded and the emphasis of feedback and in department meetings is often on the growth of excellent pedagogy. Recent teacher development opportunities have included courses including PiXL, outreach work in other schools and departments, the supporting of raising attainment globally across a year group and other wider responsibility across the academy.
Within the department there are experienced teachers, a Lead Practitioner and the support of members of the Senior Leadership Team. The department prides itself on its innovation and excellence in moving practice on to support student development.
