Job overview

Job Description
Education Resources

South Lanarkshire Council schools have undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme. We have invested significantly in modernising school buildings and this project is believed to be the largest and most progressive in the UK.

The agenda now is to provide high quality education which will inspire learners, transform learning and strengthen communities.

During this time we have built and modernised numerous Secondary and Primary Schools.

It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.

If you want to teach in modern schools which are suited to delivering a 21st century curriculum we are looking for you to join us. We are the fifth largest local authority in Scotland and we want to harness the passion and commitment that you have for teaching – so why not come and join us.

We are committed to the education, care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment. You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate.

You will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century"

Education Scotland

“Particular strengths of the school: The work of the Assessment is for Learning Group in improving the quality of teaching and of young people’s learning experiences. The increasing proportions of young people continuing with education and training or entering employment when they leave school. The work undertaken with gypsy travellers’ children. The majority of young people now make good progress.  Overall, the curriculum provides a broad and balanced experience for most young people.”
