St Finbarr’s Primary is a place where students are formed in the faith and can achieve high levels of ‘Catholic religious literacy’ and practice. 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for the following position: 

Full Time / Permanent Teacher K - 6 commencing 2019 school year 

Applicants must: 

  • have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith and appropriate Religious Education qualifications; 
  • have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the parish school; 
  • have a commitment to professional growth in accordance with the National Professional Standards for Teachers; 
  • be willing to contribute positively as a committed member of a Professional Learning Community who demonstrates highly effective teaching skills; classroom management and facilitating rich learning through the use of contemporary technologies; 
  • be willing to teach any year level from K-6; 
  • hold a current NSW Working with Children Check; 
  • hold current NESA Teacher accreditation. 

Please nominate three (3) referees, one of whom is the Parish Priest from your usual place of worship.

St Finbarr’s Catholic Primary School is a co-educational, K-6 primary school, located at Byron Bay on the New South Wales north coast. The school community celebrated 100 years of St Finbarr's in 2016 and today, the school sits on three hectares of land surrounded by the heathland of Arakwal National Park and Tallow Beach. It is situated in the Holy Spirit Parish and is part of the Catholic School system in the Lismore Diocese.

Curriculum

The students of St Finbarr’s School are provided with a rich curriculum by a team of talented and engaging teachers who create opportunities for students to excel in all areas. A quality Religious Education Program is taught in association with the NSW Board of Studies, Key Learning Areas subjects. A wide range of extra-curricula programs is available for students, particularly in the areas of Creative Arts, Sport and Enrichment.
