Position Information 

Homebush Boys High School is a comprehensive boy’s high school (enrolment 1065 students) with a proud tradition of strong academic achievement and excellence in the fields of sport and the creative arts, and many opportunities for extracurricular activities. We are highly multicultural in nature with over 90% of students having a language background other than English. More than 50 cultural and language backgrounds are represented in our school population. We have a focus on maximising student learning outcomes with a continuing commitment to literacy and numeracy. Our school staff is experienced and committed to engaging boys in meaningful learning experiences. The school has a strong reputation in the community and continues to build educational networks to further the opportunities for students. We are establishing a Support Unit for 2021, consisting of 3 Autism support classes. Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.

 

Excellent organisation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to student achievement.

An ability to lead consultation, planning and implementation of Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and ACCESS requests.

Demonstrate ability to contribute to faculty, as well as whole school programs to cater for students with a diverse range of learning and behavioural needs.

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
