Position Information 

Moree Secondary College is situated on Gamilaroi country and is part of the Connected Communities Strategy. It services the students from the agricultural region surrounding and within the township of Moree (town population 7 000). The Carol Ave campus services our Year 7-9 and our Year 10 – 12 students are located on the Albert Street campus. 60% of our college students identify as ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander). 

The college is committed to creating connected classrooms with staff who have completed targeted professional learning to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of assessment capable visible learners. We continue to create strong connections with the school community to improve attendance and engagement inclusive of Moree community groups, Moree Local AECG and external agencies. 

Our campuses are located within the centre of Moree which also hosts outstanding recreation, sporting, banking, performing arts and shopping facilities. You can travel daily by air and train to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Sydney and by bus to Brisbane. This position also attracts additional incentives under the Rural Teacher Incentives program and we welcome early career and experienced teachers to apply.

Specific Selection Criteria 
  1. Approval to teach Legal Studies and approval to teach or willingness to teach Geography [7-10].
  2. Demonstrated exemplary classroom practice, with an emphasis on implementing high quality differentiated teaching and the use of data to inform practice.
  3. Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across a 7-12 context and build positive relationships with students, parents and the wider community.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
