Position Information 

Londonderry Public School is located in a semi-rural setting in the Hawkesbury region of Western Sydney. It has an enrolment of 238 students of which 9% are Aboriginal. The school is comprised of a range of experienced staff and beginning teachers. There is a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy, student wellbeing and the integration of technology across the curriculum. Londonderry Public School is an Early Action for Success – Phase 2 school and has an Instructional Leader to support Literacy and Numeracy programs. Londonderry PS is a Positive Behaviour For Learning school and programs supporting student leadership and welfare are a priority. The school also receives funding through the National Chaplaincy Program. The school has developed partnerships with the local secondary school and early childhood centre to support the transition of students at key points of learning. Londonderry PS has a strong sporting and performing arts culture, an actively engaged Parents and Citizens’ Association and is extensively involved with the local community.

Specific Selection Criteria 

Approval to teach K-6. Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education

Demonstrated capacity to be innovative in the role of release from face-to-face Teacher Librarian and skills in ICT in a future focused learning environment whilst promoting a love of literature.

Demonstrated experience and/or capacity to manage the resources of the school library, knowledge and experience of the Oliver Library System.

Highly developed organisational, interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated in an ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
