Position Information 

Ryde East Public School is situated in a residential area set on large school grounds with a current enrolment of 555 students, including 55% from an EAL/D background. The school is committed to excellence in teaching and learning in a safe and positive environment to develop the whole child and enable each student to achieve his or her fullest potential. Students have access to a broad curriculum with a range of opportunities. We have a strong focus on quality teaching practices, differentiated learning and formative assessment, which will continue to be enhanced through our School Improvement Plan in 2021-2024.

 

The staff are dedicated, enthusiastic and collaborative in planning programs to improve student outcomes and wellbeing. Ryde East Public school has formed partnerships with neighbouring schools to support the whole-school implementation of Visible Learning and quality differentiated teaching and learning programs, specifically in mathematics.  The school enjoys strong and active partnerships between staff, students and parents. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) is part of the consistent approach to student wellbeing K-6. We have an active and engaged P&C and parent community.

  
Specific Selection Criteria 

1. Approval to teach infants and/or primary. Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking or enrolled in Teacher Librarian Qualifications approved by the NSW Department Of Education. (Refer to special notes below)

 
2. Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative K-6 learning programs in the library using evidence-based approaches such as inquiry learning, whilst promoting a love of literacy and literature and managing school resources and library procedures.
 
3. Demonstrated capacity to lead the library to become a whole school future focussed,  learning hub through implementation of team teaching curriculum programs embedding information communication and technology (ICT) including coding, robotics, 3D printing, filmmaking to enhance student learning outcomes.
 
4. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with evidence of collaborative practice and demonstrated ability to build positive relationships across the whole school community.

 

  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 
Special Notes 

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.

 

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications are recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months.
