The successful applicant will:

 

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

The Teacher-Librarian partners and collaborates with teachers in the development of curriculum and pedagogy and manages the library and information resources and services of the College. The Teacher-Librarian contributes to the growth of students as independent lifelong learners. Teacher-Librarian in a Catholic school is required to demonstrate an understanding of, commitment to, and support for the values and ethos of the Catholic school. Collaboratively develop, implement and evaluate curriculum with teachers and school leaders within a contemporary learning environment to challenge learners to engage effectively with literature and develop digital and information literacy. Develop, manage and lead a contemporary digital and information rich environment with a range of resources and services that support and are responsive to the needs of the school community. Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills to actively participate in and contribute to school renewal processes and growth of professional communities. Tenure: Full time, Fixed Term, (6 month contract) to commence Term 2, 23 April and finishes 29 September 2019.
