We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher with a proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning for students aged 11-19years, who have a range of special educational needs. Role Purpose:

We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner who has the ability to share their practice, work with a positive and optimistic outlook and drive forward improvements.  Collaboration is a strength of the school, and we wish to recruit a team player who will work well with school leaders, teachers and teaching assistants to develop the highest standard of pedagogy within the classroom.

The successful candidate will:

  • have experience of teaching pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, 
  • have a proven track record of outstanding teaching with evidence of impact,
  • have the skills to lead a team in the classroom,
  • have the ability to think critically, creatively and be decisive,
  • be enthusiastic, evaluative, reflective and inspirational, with the ability to motivate others to take on new challenges that will enhance the learning opportunities that we offer  
  • have excellent communication skills
  • have an interest in teaching a range of subjects as the timetable requires 
  • be able to contribute fully to the life of the school

We anticipate that the selected candidate will be based at Pioneer House High School initially although teachers may be expected to teach across the Trust over time. About us

Pioneer House High School is a 100 place Free Special School, established in September 2016, for students with significant learning difficulties aged from 11-19 years. The school has a focus on developing Enterprise, Employability and Independence Skills with our pupils; as a result of rapid growth we require a teacher, with experience of working with pupils with SEND, to join our successful and committed team. 

Prospere Learning Trust was formed in September 2017 through the merger of two multi academy trusts. We currently employ over 500 staff and are passionate about securing the best possible education for our young people, and believe that our staff play a vital role in achieving our vision.  Prospere Learning Trust currently comprises of 5 secondary schools, including 3 mainstream schools and 2 special needs schools.  We are a growing Trust, currently working in the South Manchester area but with further schools anticipated across Greater Manchester.

Pioneer House High School is a special school located in Northern Moor which provides 100 day places for 11 to 19 year old pupils, with a unique focus in preparing pupils with significant additional needs, to become independent and productive adults. The school has a strong vocational emphasis and pupils will have the potential to progress on to supported or independent employment/internships/apprenticeships or college.

The school was opened in 2016 and moved to a new, purpose built, site in 2017. It has a range of facilities including a one-bedroom bungalow, poly-tunnel, wooded area and play areas.

The school has been described as warm and welcoming by Ofsted, who completed their first inspection in May 2019, rating the school outstanding.
