Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced K-6 Primary Teachers for the above position, commencing 27 April 2020 and concluding 18 December 2020.


Essential criteria:

● Teaching qualifications meeting the standard for accreditation with NESA;

● Demonstrate a commitment to the ethos of the Catholic faith and mission of the school;

● Demonstrate a high standard of competency and proficiency in classroom practice and student management;

● Possess effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as a team member of the school and parish community;

● Hold appropriate Religious Education qualifications (or willingness to obtain);

● Ability to teach Religious Education;

● Capacity to teach in flexible learning environments;

● An understanding of the importance of a collaborative approach to teaching;

● Working With Children Check Clearance.

About St Michael’s Primary School

St Michael's Primary School is a co-educational, faith-based primary school located in the small New South Wales town, Manilla. Approximately 45 kilometres northwest of the regional city of Tamworth, the Catholic school has a current enrolment of 93 students, from Kindergarten to Year 6, and employ 8 teaching staff.

Established in 1904, the school was originally named St Joseph's. Today, St Michael's encourages each member of the school community to use their "God-given abilities" for the benefit of the surrounding community. The school's motto is 'Let Your Light Shine'.

St Michael's prides itself on having learning technologies that are "some of the best in the area". This includes students having access to interactive whiteboards, projectors, printers, desktop computers and the use of iPads inside the classroom. Outside the school boasts large play areas that include green areas, hard multi-functional sporting courts and undercover walkways. 

Curriculum

As a Catholic school, St Michael's seeks to develop each student academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. This is achieved through implementing a school curriculum that fosters skills such as reflection, critical thinking, problem solving, analysis and discernment. The teaching programs align with the NSW Board of Studies syllabus documents, and follow the key learning areas of English, Maths, HSIE, Science and Technology, PDHPE, Creative Arts and Religious Education.
