Art at Notre Dame

We are looking for an inspirational and visionary individual to the full-time post Teacher of Photography, who can build on the academic success of the Art department, to further develop the team.

Art is a highly successful, grade one department. Achievement and high grades are consistently above benchmark and the ALPS scores demonstrate excellent progress. The Art Department is highly committed and enthusiastic with specialist skilled staff. In September 2020 the department introduced A Level Photography for the first time and this has proved highly popular. The department offers A Levels in Fine Art and Photography. Each of which gives students the opportunity to experience a range of specialist areas before making informed choices about the areas in which they would like to specialise. The Art department have facilities for painting, printmaking, textiles, and sculpture. There are two studios and many students gravitate towards these in their own time to continue their work in a supportive, highly creative environment.

There is a mutually supportive, friendly and professional atmosphere within every department at Notre Dame with a strong emphasis on enabling all students to realise their potential.

The art and photography classes are taught in very pleasant, well-resourced specialist rooms which include a suite of Apple Macs. There is excellent technical support from our specialist Art technician, with specialist knowledge of illustration and print.

The post offers the opportunity for an aspirational leader with a track record of outstanding success to make a significant contribution to the future of Notre Dame within an inclusive environment, with a real commitment to the personal and academic development of all students.
