Teacher of Art & Photography

Permanent, Full Time

Required from January 2019

Salary is in line with National Pay Scales. A wider reward package of staff benefits available.

If you are an outstanding practitioner with the skills, energy and creativity to inspire, motivate and challenge students and you are looking to develop your teaching experience within an outstanding school with great facilities, this is the job for you!

You will join an innovative, committed, supportive and forward-thinking Design Faculty benefitting from excellent facilities and a very experienced staff team. The Design Faculty consists of the Design Technology and Art & Design departments and since the beginning of September 2014 includes ICT. The significance of this Faculty is a reflection of both the importance that the school attaches to Design and to the considerable numbers of students at Key Stage 4 and Post-16 who opt for an aesthetic and design specialism from the following choices: Art, Photography, Food Technology, Graphics, Textiles and Product Design.

Our Faculty is an exciting place to work! The Art & Design staff offer a range of extra-curricular activities including trips and residential opportunities, both in this country and abroad, master classes and most able workshops. Over the past 7 years, we have held a summer design exhibition of ‘A’ level work at Harewood House and last year we visited Berlin! The creation of our Design Faculty has focused on the sharing of expertise, resources and staff across the different subjects to create new, exciting opportunities for learning.

We are very proud of our reputation for achieving results and as one of the first Teaching Schools in the UK and part of the Red Kite Learning Trust, Harrogate Grammar School offers fantastic professional development opportunities for staff within and beyond the school. This is a superb opportunity to work with fantastic young people, who are committed to their learning, and are proud to be part of Harrogate Grammar School.

We now want your help to enable us to go beyond ‘outstanding’ and help us to live up to our motto of ‘excellence for all.’

If we can help in providing any other information you might need in advance of your application, please contact the HR team: email: recruitment@harrogategrammar.co.uk or Tel: (01423) 535222.

We welcome applicants of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. For more details and access to our on-line application form, please visit www.rklt.co.uk/vacancies
