Required from October 2018, a part-time Teacher of Art, to cover a colleague on maternity leave. The ‘Outstanding’ Art Department is well-resourced and produces ambitious work; with a high take up at GCSE and 6th Form. Work at Key Stage 3 is based on the teaching of Formal Elements through a range of two and three dimensional media. Confidence in teaching constructed sculpture, and familiarity with materials and processes for textiles, would be an advantage.

The Art Department achieved GCSE 44% A*/A, 85% A*-C ALPS score 4, A Level 63% A*-B ALPS score 4, IBH 100% 5+ IBS 100% 5+.

About Anglo European School

Anglo European School is a 11-19, co-educational comprehensive school situated in Ingatestone, Essex. It has approximately 1,415 students.

The school was opened in 1973 after the closure of a secondary modern school led locals to campaign to keep the school open and the Local Authority, Essex, decided to establish a school with a “European Dimension”.

Anglo European School serves local needs but also draw students from across Essex and parts of London. In 1977 it became the first UK state school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and in 1995 the first comprehensive school to become a specialist Language college. In 2005 the school established the first co-headship model in a state secondary school.

As a centre of excellence for language learning, the school offers Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish as well as English as an Additional Language and Latin.  Up until age 16 all students study two languages other than English.

In the sixth form, students must study one language. They have a choice of A-levels or an opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma. There is also the chance to study selected parts of the IB Diploma with A-levels. In addition, the International Baccalaureate Career Programme provides an internationally recognised vocational qualification.
