Exciting opportunity to join a lively and thriving Art department that is committed to providing a creative and exciting education for pupils of all abilities.

Teaching across the 11-18 range through a variety of media and disciplines, including painting, drawing, printing, film and sculpture, you will engage pupils in an imaginative way through teaching Art, Craft and Design from historical and contemporary sources.

If you are a well-qualified graduate with qualified teacher status or have equivalent experience and excellent subject knowledge with the enthusiasm and ability to inspire, excite and motivate pupils we would be delighted to hear from you.

Art at Oxford High School

Our aim at OHS is to promote the understanding and use of Art and Design as a visual language. The Art department is overseen by three artist teachers whose practices are rooted in illustration, fine art, theatre design and TV styling. We are all passionate about teaching Art, Craft And Design and engage in our own practice as a way of informing and inspiring our teaching.

The new building which is due to commence in August 2018 and open in September 2019 will offer a wonderful enhancement to the art facilities of the school. The new building will give Oxford High School a facility which will be the envy of almost all other schools in the county.

About Oxford High School for Girls GDST

Oxford High School is an independent, non-denominational, all-through school for girls without nursery and with sixth form, situated in three sites in Summertown, North Oxford. It is one of 26 members of the GDST (Girls’ Day School Trust), meaning it is governed by the council and operates according to the trust’s policy. The school provides 906 places for primary, secondary and sixth-form students aged 4-19.

Oxford High School was founded in 1875 and is the oldest girls' school in the city. Until recently it accepted boys into its junior school, but is now girls-only.
