Job overview

Are you ready to teach within a highly successful Science faculty in an ‘Outstanding’ school?

Glyn School is seeking an inspiring Teacher of Biology and Chemistry to join us from September 2019 or earlier.

Science is an integral part of the curriculum at Glyn and is taught across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Each class at KS3 is taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics and periodic set changes occur based on regular assessment. Triple and Combined Science is offered at KS4. Science is a popular subject choice at KS5, with an average of three A Level classes for all branches of Science – Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

You will have the opportunity to develop and grow in a dynamic, forward thinking and progressive Science faculty. We offer excellent internal and external CPD training and frequently invite colleagues to collaborate and liaise with leading teachers across the GLF Multi-Academy Trust.

We are interested in hearing from you, no matter what point in your career you are currently at, and welcome flexible working arrangements. You will have the drive and ambition to lead our students from ‘outstanding’ to ‘exceptional’ and will have a proven track record in achieving high student outcomes.

Glyn is ideally situated just ten minutes’ walk from both Ewell East and Ewell West stations, both of which are approximately 20 minutes from Clapham Junction and within Zone 6.

Why should you teach at Glyn?

Glyn is an ‘Outstanding’ school and Learning and Teaching is at the heart of Glyn. We aim to deliver lessons that inspire and engage students who will then go on to fulfil and exceed their potential. Teachers who have a passion for their subject and build strong relationships with their students cultivate a ‘love of learning’ that ultimately sees the young people we teach make exceptional progress.  We firmly believe that high quality professional development is an important part of excellent teaching and we enthusiastically pursue ongoing teacher development: CPD no matter where a teacher is in their career, is part of the fabric and culture of the school.
