Job overview

We are seeking an inspirational, well-qualified and dynamic Business Studies teacher to join our thriving and supportive Business, Economics and Finance department. Applicants must possess graduate subject knowledge, have high expectations, be creative and inspirational, and have demonstrated success at all key stages, particularly at BTEC and A Level.

Business is taught in Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 and is one of the most popular subject choices for students within the trust. At Key Stage 3, students study a skill based qualification which introduces them to Business, Economics and Enterprise. Students are then offered two pathways at KS4, choosing either BTEC First Award in Business or OCR GCSE Business.

In the Sixth Form options available to students broaden further with AQA A-level Business, BTEC National Diploma, EdExcel Economics and LIBF Finance qualifications offered to students. In recent years the department has grown significantly and has achieved some very promising results. The supportive student culture created by the department has developed a positive ethos amongst students and there are a high number of students currently studying our subjects. Many students continue to study Business or Economics at University or progress to Apprenticeship programmes with prestigious employers.

This is an exciting opportunity for an NQT or experienced teacher who is committed to enabling all students to achieve the very best they can and is dedicated to their own professional development.

Closing Date: 09.00 Friday, August 23rd 2019.  Please apply at the earliest opportunity. We reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive applications from outstanding candidates.

An Application Form and recruitment information can be downloaded from our website www.woottonupper.co.uk or requested by email from recruitment@wootton.beds.sch.uk.
