Teacher of Business Studies
Additional paid responsibility available to match skills/experience
Required for September 2018
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Teacher of Business to join our successful department. The Business department at Kennet school is thriving, with numbers continuing to grow at both KS4 and KS5.
Teaching at Kennet provides huge opportunity for developing & expanding your own teaching practice. One of the benefits of being a large school is the range of opportunity on offer and teachers are actively encouraged to take advantage of this.
Our PPA time is deliberately generous, aiming to give our teachers a chance to maintain a healthy work-life balance and build strong departments. We also allocate significant funding every year to professional development, well above national average, and offer the chance to contribute to working groups on teaching & learning and literacy.
We are “Outstanding”, a title of which we are very proud and which aptly describes our school. However, we believe Kennet School is defined by much more than an inspection grade. We believe the collaboration between senior leaders, teachers, support staff and students in pursuit of the very best outcomes for our young people is something tangible and visible to all.
So, what are we looking for? Someone who is passionate about delivering an innovative and interesting Business Studies curriculum, someone who is confident about sharing their passion and subject knowledge with young people and who still recognises why they became a teacher in the first place.
We do our best to secure the best available teachers and are willing to fit this role to fit the individual joining us. If this is your first teaching role, we offer a bespoke and highly successful NQT programme. For those looking to take their careers to the next level we run an in-house leadership programme (Leaders for the Future) focusing on high level discussion, reading and research.
In short, we are committed to investing in every member of staff - we see this as an investment for our both our staff, and the young people they serve.
Why not invest an hour to come and see Kennet School for yourself? We love welcoming visitors to our school and are confident our current staff and fabulous young people will convince you to join us.
