An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Chemistry department in the secondary school. This vacancy is available immediately.
The New English School is a large, well-established, over-subscribed co-educational international school on a purpose built campus in Kuwait, catering for students from ages 3-18. Our students follow a curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales and study for IGCSE, AS and A level examinations.
The school was founded in 1969 by Mr. Tareq Sayed Rajab and is still owned and operated by the Rajab family. The New English School has a deserved reputation for academic excellence. Students leave the school to take up places at top universities around the world with favoured destinations being the United Kingdom, U.S.A. and Canada. In 2019 48.6% of A level grades and 57.2% of IGCSE grades were A* or A across the school.
The school is a founder member of the regional British Schools of the Middle East organisation (BSME) and has held BSO status since 2012. In our most recent inspection in February 2019 NES was graded as outstanding. This means that the school can support teachers who wish to complete their NQT year.
The New English School is very well resourced. All students and staff are issued with a chromebook and every classroom has WiFi, a desktop computer, projector and interactive whiteboard.
We are looking to employ teachers, qualified to work in the U.K., who have the ability to inspire students with their passion and knowledge of their subject. We also run a large co-curricular activities programme and all staff are expected to contribute to this.
In return we offer an extremely competitive tax free salary, annual return flights to the U.K. or flight allowance, rent free accommodation, transport to and from the school and local medical coverage. You will be able to save a significant proportion of your salary. Travel links and opportunities from Kuwait are excellent, which staff make great use of during generous holidays.
We believe that the New English School offers a unique opportunity to work in a truly international setting where committed teachers can have an impact. It offers you the opportunity to work with students and parents who hold teachers in high regard and have high expectations.
NES Kuwait is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to enhanced background checks.
It is our people that make NES a special place. If you are interested in joining our team please get in touch and email an up to date CV, covering letter of application, details of two referees (one of which should be your current or most recent employer), and a completed application form to email@example.com.
