A well-qualified and highly motivated Teacher of Chemistry or Physics is required for September 2018, for a permanent contract.
The person appointed will join a thriving Science Faculty made up of 25 staff. The faculty has a reputation for achieving excellent results at all levels and the school’s GCSE Science results have been in the top 7% of schools for progress nationally for the last 3 years. Both the Chemistry and Physics Departments consist of 6 teachers and 2 technicians. A level Chemistry and Physics are very popular options and there are typically 6 sixth form Chemistry groups and 6 sixth form Physics groups. We will be happy to receive applications from a newly qualified or established teacher.
All applicants must demonstrate a passion for their subject and the ability and skills as a teacher to inspire a love of learning.
George Abbot School is a large 11-18, mixed comprehensive, situated on the northern side of Guildford, within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station. It is a forward looking and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi academy trust. We also have Teaching School status.
