The Escola Internacional del Camp (EIC) is an international school which opened in 2012 and has now completed its 7th year.
 

The school, located in a beautiful Mediterranean environment in Salou south of Barcelona, has a new building complex with potential to welcome up to 800 students (moving towards 680 next year), is inclusive and offers a complete education to students aged 1 to 18. This is the first school to run with the Socrates Educa model, an innovative pedagogical system which will be implemented in other new schools in the future.
 

It is a popular and happy English / Spanish / Catalan trilingual school, offering Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, National and International Baccalaureate (IB), with an international emphasis and also Chinese as a foreign language. Our curriculum is based on the local curriculum but is influenced by teachers from around the world and taught mainly in English. Our first three IB cohorts achieved above average points and pass rates. Former students are studying in universities in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada Germany and Switzerland.
Apart from the three main languages  (English, Spanish and Catalan), Chinese is taught as a foreign language to all students from age 8 upwards, preparing for Confucius Institute qualifications.

We run a wide range of extra curricular activities, community links and projects as well as educational/cultural events and visits and an impressive annual university fair. Our sports, music and cultural events are a strong feature of life in the school.
 

All successful candidates should be team players, innovative, creative, able to differentiate in the classroom and motivated by the opportunity to work in a multilingual environment. We need a second full time teacher, qualified and with experience, to join our experienced secondary Chinese teacher. Knowledge of Catalan and/or Spanish,  is also an advantage.

Essential for all candidates:

Fluent Chinese speaker.
Good ICT skills (familiar with Mac/ iPad, knowledge  of educational apps)

Teachers who love their subject and can inspire students of all abilities and cultures in the classroom.

Good, active teaching methodology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Primary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent Masters / other.

Desirable:

  • Ability to teach from ages 8-12 and maybe some older students
  • Knowledge of Spanish
  • Experience of Confucius Institute exam preparation.
  • Primary teaching experience.
