Plumstead Manor is a thriving school, rated Good by Ofsted in May 2018, with its own Sixth Form, dedicated to providing a world-class education to the young people and families of Royal Greenwich. We hold a strong commitment to promoting excellence, justice and success for young women and we look forward to extending this to young men as we welcome a mixed intake in to Year 7 from September 2018.
Our goal is to inspire and nurture young people of all abilities and backgrounds to develop a love of learning which will sustain them through their lives. It is this which will successfully see them into further education and the fulfilling career of their choice. We believe that high quality teaching, in a safe, friendly and harmonious community, is the key to unlocking the potential that all our young people have, so that they can go on to change the world for the better.
This role is within our well established and thriving Personal Development and Guidance Department through which the disciplines of Citizenship, PSHE, SRE and Careers are delivered. All students study a combination of these subjects in key stages 3 and 4, and Citizenship is a popular option at Key Stage 4. As our recent Ofsted inspection shows this is a thriving area of the school and makes a significant contribution to the overall success and ethos of our community.
You will facilitate and encourage inspirational learning experiences which provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and maximize their attainment. You will contribute to the organization of school journeys and trips and the development of British values across the school.
We can offer you dynamic and enthusiastic students, the opportunity to be part of a strong and supportive Personal Development and Guidance team and a whole school commitment to excellence and justice in a successful and harmonious community.
This role would suit an experienced teacher or a NQT. We welcome and support NQTs with an excellent NQT programme, tailored to individual needs, where you will be supported by a mentor. Support and training is continued after the first year of teaching.
