Fairfield High School is looking for an inspiring, creative, energetic teacher with excellent subject knowledge, an enormous enthusiasm for Computer Science in particular and the positive use of digital technology.   An ability to teach Science would be desirable.  We wish to appoint someone who will foster an intellectual buzz around the subject, and has the drive and determination to grow the subject within the school.  This post is a full time post, however, there is some flexibility for part time.  

Potential for an Allowance for the right candidate.  

Computer Science is taught across both KS3 and KS4, with all students getting access to a range of different projects in KS3, which broadens their knowledge of different computer languages. Students gain experiences in Python, Scratch, Kodu and Ardunio, and we are looking to develop more opportunities for the students to gain skills as the subject develops.  There is a very positive uptake in KS4. 

With Science and Maths the faculty actively supports the STEMC agenda, and runs numerous workshops and extra-curricular activities for the students to help develop their understanding and to ignite a passion for the subjects.

You will:

•        Be a strong and committed teacher with a proven track record of progress at KS3, KS4 

•        Have previous experience in raising student attainment and implementing effective      

           intervention

•        Have excelled interpersonal and communication skills

•        Be aware of the new changes in the curriculum, and have ideas of how to implement this
