Teacher of Computer Science – MPS/UPS

Our intake is expanding and we want you to grow with us and join our team dedicated to providing the very best outcomes for our students.  We are seeking to recruit a teacher who will demonstrate commitment to our “Ambition for All” values by inspiring all students to achieve.  We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Computer Science to join our fantastic faculty and strengthen an already excellent department within a STEM orientated school.  This is an excellent opportunity to influence the future direction of the provision within our over-subscribed school in the heart of Corby.

Our fantastic Computer Science department has a highly ambitious curriculum, making use of technologies such as Raspberry Pi to teach the core principles of coding at KS3. Students receive weekly Computer Science lessons from Year 7 to Year 9.  Students can go on to specialise in OCR GCSE Computer Science or the Cambridge National in Creative iMedia. We run a highly successful A Level Computer Science course with a number of ex-students going on to study Computer Science at Russell Group universities. We also offer an exciting new vocational course at KS5, BTEC Creative Digital Media Production which is run alongside our fantastic Media Studies team. Students have the option to focus on web design or games development in this course.

The Computer Science department is highly collaborative, making use of Office 365 to share resources and planning. Students work exclusively online, making use of Microsoft Teams and OneNote Class Notebooks allowing for a high level of engagement both in and out of the classroom.

You will be given all the freedom you need to be creative and you will be working with students who have chosen to be at a successful school.  We welcome applicants with a teaching specialism in Computer Science and can offer you the next step in your career and give the opportunity to be both developed and challenged, whether you are an NQT or a more experienced practitioner. This position is for a January 2021 start.
