Job overview

Kensington Park School is seeking to appoint a highly qualified, inspirational and enthusiastic Teacher of Computer Science to teach throughout the School – the ability to teach Mathematics or another subject to GCSE or beyond would be a significant advantage. This post is potentially available with immediate effect.

Kensington Park School is a co-educational independent school (11-18) situated in the heart of cosmopolitan London with a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. The School combines a rigorous academic education with an emphasis on developing the whole student by giving them a broad educational experience and strong pastoral care. The small class sizes ensure that a personalised and individual education is delivered to each student. The School has an extensive and thriving co-curricular programme to which a contribution will be expected.

The successful applicant will join a forward-thinking and high-achieving department and be committed to delivering genuinely imaginative, varied and challenging courses. Each year its leavers take up places at Oxbridge and other top universities in the UK, Europe, North America and around the world.

The salary will reflect individual experience. This post would equally suit an experienced classroom practitioner or an individual who is new to teaching. Kensington Park School has an excellent reputation for training staff through the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (ISTIP).

Full details can be found on our Job description.

Early applications are encouraged as they may be reviewed upon receipt and interviews may be scheduled (and appointments made) in advance of the closing date.

Kensington Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Welcome to Kensington Park School.

Split across two sites on either side of Kensington Gardens, Kensington Park School offers boys and girls aged 11 to 18 an exceptionally well-rounded education in the heart of central London.

An academically purposeful school, our central purpose is, above all, to enable potential, and each student is excited, challenged, and inspired to become the best possible version of themselves. Small class sizes, coupled with a broad and balanced curriculum and outstanding pastoral care, not only prepares students for exceptional GCSE and A Level results, but enables them to develop skills they need to succeed in a fast-paced and ever-changing world.

We believe that young people flourish when they feel happy, confident, and challenged. This core belief underpins all that we do in our school, which has a friendly, family atmosphere and focuses on the individual.

At the heart of our success is the strength of partnership that exists between our staff, students, and their families. We believe that every young person should feel a sense of belonging in our school community and enjoy their learning. As a consequence, our students will leave with the skills and resources they need to take the next step in their lives, confident in their strengths and prepared to meet the challenges of the future.

The underlying philosophy of our school aims to prepare our students for their futures in a rapidly changing world by encouraging critical thinking, adaptability, and taking increasing responsibility for one’s own learning and actions whilst striving for personal academic excellence. The ethos of the school is built on mutual respect between staff and students alongside a strong culture of inclusiveness and openness, which also provides freedom for individual ambition and expression.

Our school values are summarised by the KPS REACH Code, which emphasizes Responsibility, Empathy, Ambition, Courage, and Humility.

We are unapologetically ambitious for every young person in our care, and for the school as a whole. This determination to provide a brilliant mix of motivated students and dedicated staff is part of what makes KPS such a vibrant and positive place to study and work.
