Teacher of Computing

Chestnut Grove AcademyWandsworth

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and well qualified Teacher of Computing to teach Computer Science across the school, up to post-16.

Computer Science is taught discretely throughout KS3 and is a popular option at KS4 and KS5 with a long track record of success. At KS4 we currently offer the 9-1 GCSE Computer Science and BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology. At KS5 we offer BTEC Nationals in Computing at Level 3 and at Level 2 the BTEC Technical Certificate in IT Support.

Chestnut Grove is a high performing, 11-18, multi-cultural school in Balham, South London. We have recently completed a multi-million pound building programme, which has provided staff and students with a modern building with further plans to expand the school, by 2021. Our motto is a ‘Creative Learning Community’, demonstrating a commitment to providing our students with an innovative and exciting curriculum.

The Chestnut Grove curriculum provides a rigorous, knowledge-rich, transformational education, encapsulated through our PROUD values, which prepares our students to succeed at university and lead fulfilling lives. It is the embodiment of our ethos of a creative learning community, which marries traditional values with dynamic approaches to teaching and learning.

This post is suitable for an NQT, for whom excellent support would be available.  As the lead partner in the Wandle Teaching School Alliance we are able to offer exceptional opportunities for professional development.

Further information and an application pack is available from the school’s website:

CLOSING DATE: Friday 16th April, 2021 at noon

Chestnut Grove is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
