A Teacher of Creative Textiles and Art in a ‘good’ school (Ofsted 2017).

Your new school

Kingsway Park High School opened in September 2010 in a purpose built, state of the art building with high quality facilities and resources.  The school is a forward thinking and reflective learning community which ‘successfully brings together pupils from a wide range of backgrounds, races and cultures’ (Ofsted 2017).

Leadership is strong and effective within the school and there is an established ethos where ‘every pupil is valued’ (Ofsted 2017).  The students’ behaviour is good and positive attitudes to learning are evident throughout the school ensuring that staff can focus on delivering excellent teaching and learning, and ensuring students continue to make good progress.

The staff members work collaboratively and strive to achieve outstanding, high quality teaching that provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for all students.

The department.

The Art, Photography and Creative Textiles Department is a small but successful department.  The facilities for Art/Creative Textiles and Photography are excellent and there are 3 dedicated Art/Textiles/Photography classrooms that are fully kitted out with the appropriate resources to teach and deliver Art, Creative Textiles and Photography.  Art and Creative Textiles are well established.  The GCSE Photography is a fairly new course (2018).

Your new role

This new post is suitable for a newly qualified teacher or an experienced teacher who wants a new challenge in a new school and has a real artistic talent to share with staff and students.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Art Teacher who has a real passion and flair for their subject and has high expectations of themselves and others.  We want someone who will always go that extra mile.

The person appointed will be fully supported by the new Head of Department and the Senior Leadership Team at Kingsway Park High School and will have a wide range of professional development training, experiences and opportunities.

What you’ll get in return

As a new member of the team you will be joining an inclusive school where staff morale is high. A quality induction, appraisal and development programme is offered to all staff members and future leaders are often grown internally making it an excellent place for career development.

We are confident that new teachers joining our school will feel welcomed and happy.
