TEACHER OF DANCE (MATERNITY COVER – 1 YEAR, FIXED-TERM)
PART-TIME – Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, or at least two of these days
Required for September 2018, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of Dance to join our successful 11-18, mixed school. The successful candidate will be one of two Dance teachers in a thriving Dance department, teaching across all key stages. Dance is an important subject within the school and is fully supported by the Senior Leadership Team and the Governors.
It is desirable that the successful candidate has previous experience of teaching and administrating BTEC Dance qualifications at levels 2 and 3, or similar. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme, which includes assisting with the annual Dance Show amongst other community and whole school events.
The Dance department have built an excellent reputation and snice starting the BTEC qualifications in 2010, we have a 100% pass rate at all key stages, with the majority of the students achieving D*-M.
We are looking for an individual who has:
- Qualified Teacher Status;
- Experience and knowledge of teaching Dance within a secondary school (ages 11-18);
- Excellent subject and curriculum knowledge;
- Record of / commitment to outstanding teaching and pupil progress;
- Experience of, or a commitment to wider school responsibilities;
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills;
- A motivator by example of pupils, staff and parents;
- An appreciation and an understanding of a school at the heart of the community.
