The English College, Dubai, seeks a positive, reflective and inspiring Teacher of Drama to work in the Secondary School for August 2021. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and high expectations of all staff and students. They will be open and willing to learn; they will be expected to engage in professional learning with the mindset that everyone can always improve. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about encouraging students to grow and develop holistically - academically, emotionally, physically and socially. 

The Arts Faculty team aims to uphold excellence in the subjects of Art, Drama and Music through evidenced based practice, personalised learning and quality instruction. We aim to develop a thriving Arts community that nurtures passionate, creative and confident students through context based, collaborative learning experiences that expose all students to the intrinsic value and real life practices of the Arts. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Arts Faculty.  Taking a collaborative role in delivering the vision, have relevant experience in being part of a thriving Drama department and building a strong rapport with our whole school community in lessons, and as part of our busy extra curricular programme.

Successful applicants will:

  • Be honest, transparent and have integrity. 
  • Have a relevant honours degree
  • Hold a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK
  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching GCSE and A Level Drama 
  • Be able to provide a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
  • Be professional in appearance and conduct
  • Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school
