We are looking for someone who can support the schools, community, develop learning and teaching and ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential. You must be committed, passionate and a well qualified staff member. We will support you to inspire the learning of our children and young people. In addition to the range of teaching and other duties outlined in the job specification we are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately with colleagues, and who have with a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for Glasgow's young people.
 
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with GTCS Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

In line with section 21(2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 the successful candidate for this post will require RC Approval.

Saint Roch’s Secondary School is a mixed, non-selective, Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form, situated in north-east Glasgow. It is a mainstream state school. Saint Roch’s provides 157 places for students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed.

Saint Roch’s first opened in January 1928, with 500 students, on a site near the ancient hospital dedicated to Saint Roch, a man who became a patron saint of the sick after helping Northern Italian plague victims.

Saint Roch’s Secondary School's motto is “Alios Adiuva”, translating as “help others”. It prides itself on being a vibrant and caring environment with a well-established reputation for high-quality scholarship. The school vision is to help students achieve through collaboration, a high level of care, and quality teaching and learning. Staff promote the value of hard work and compassion, alongside respect, tolerance and inclusion. School catering was influenced by the Fuel Zone concept brought into Glasgow secondary schools in 1996.

Students at Saint Roch’s are taught with Christian values in mind and many have gone into the church as priests or nuns. As part of a wider Christian community, the school is a strong supporter of local and international charities. Its primary aims are to provide opportunities for students, develop knowledge of other faiths and cultures, and help everyone in the community.
