Smithycroft Secondary School is a co-educational school based in Glasgow for students aged 11-18. It is a non-denominational school.

In 2002 the school moved into a new building erected on what had been its playing fields to the east of the original school building which was built in 1967. The building consists of a classroom block, a "practical" block where technical rooms are located and a wing housing a games hall and two gyms. There are also two multi-purpose pitches at the front of the school. The school has a capacity of around 950.

Values and vision

Smithycroft Secondary School seeks to be, in the fullest sense, a place of learning. It aims to ensure, through the design and structure of its courses, that students learn the facts and skills necessary to best equip them for their lives after school. The school also aims to foster a love of learning within the school that goes beyond the classroom.

Education Scotalnd

“Almost all young people are well-behaved, respectful and attentive. They are keen to do well and remain on task without close supervision. They are treated with fairness and respect and are confident that staff offer them appropriate support and guidance to do well. Young people support each other effectively in their learning and sustain their attention well to complete given tasks. They communicate very well with one another in group tasks and are skilled in evaluating their own and their partner’s progress.”
