Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher who is able to teach English & Media throughout the school at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (or both) and A-Level; for a suitably qualified candidate. Newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be well-qualified & have a passion for their subject.

English is taught to all students throughout Key Stage 3; students have four 50-minute lessons each week. At GCSE, all students take both English Language and English Literature at GCSE. Both of these subjects are currently offered at Key Stage 5 and the faculty also offers Media Studies as an A-level subject.

The English faculty comprises 10 full time and several part time specialist staff. The faculty is housed in a dedicated block with nine classrooms, including its own IT suite, staff base and a library resources centre that has recently been completely refurbished. The faculty has consistently produced some of the best results in Northamptonshire over the last five years, with over 88% of students achieving grade 4 in English at GCSE in 2018 and 23% achieving a grade 7 or above. In the Sixth Form, English and Media Studies have been popular subject options and several students go on to do English related courses at university each year.

We offer a comprehensive employee benefits package including support of the Teacher Pension Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, Discounted Onsite Gym Membership and onsite parking.

Wollaston School is a fantastic place to work and study. Informal visits are welcomed if you would like to see us in action and to learn more about us prior to your application.
