We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated part-time (3 days per week) Teacher of English who is willing to go ‘the extra mile’ for the students and school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our outstanding curriculum area (90% A*-C, 36% A*-A) of specialist English teachers who delight and revel in the world of Literature and Language. In September 2016, the curriculum area moved into “The Globe”, a new 2.6 million pound building, each classroom in close proximity to the LRC. In addition the area has a media suite for editing and film making. English is a very strong team, led by an experienced and highly successful Head of Faculty. At Key Stage 4, students currently follow the AQA GCSE specifications for English Language and Literature.
You will be fully supported both within the curriculum area and by the leadership team and will find students co-operative and responsive. You will be expected to show professional concern for the written and spoken language and to contribute to extra-curricular activities, such as visits to the theatre or lunchtime clubs.
Our excellent staff make us outstanding. If you apply and are successful, you will be supported and developed through our extensive CPD programme organised in conjunction with our teaching school. Regardless of your experience or level of responsibility, you will have a range of exciting opportunities to ensure you are always improving and learning.
We welcome applications from both well qualified teachers and those who are at the beginning of their career. The key is that you are enthusiastic and capable of contributing to a highly effective and supportive English teaching team.
