Founded in 2004, the International School of Lyon is a 3-18 school located in a pleasant residential suburb of the city. Situated in Sainte Foy-Lès-Lyon, in the French Republic, is the International School of Lyon. It is a mainstream, all-through, independent, international educational establishment. The school, which opened in March 2004, teaches girls and boys aged between three and 18 years old. The school was established due to the high amount of people in the local community wanting an education through the medium of English. It allows pupils to achieve the International Baccalaureate Diploma from attending the school.  The establishment has a lot of support from both individuals and businesses in the local community.

Values and Vision

The International School of Lyon aims to give the students an excellent quality of education. It wants the students to reach their goals and gain outstanding qualifications. Teachers, who have great knowledge of the subjects being taught, help and nurture the students attending the premises. For parents who work long hours, there is an option for the students to stay on the school premises for a cost. Parents are encouraged to be a part of the children’s academic lives, including being a member of the parent-teacher association (PTA).  The school wants every child to become independent, self-confident and caring individuals, who will leave the establishment with a need to learn more. It also offers outside of school clubs and activities which the children should take advantage of. These include drama, music, sport choir, maths and cultural clubs. The hope is for the students to create life-long memories from attending the school.
