British Georgian Academy (BGA) is looking to recruit dynamic, committed staff members for our exciting and unique independent school. The British Georgian Academy was founded in 2006. Currently the school has 450 students, most of whom are Georgian. The school currently undergoing a strategic review of its vision, curriculum and teaching model. The aim of this review is to establish a bilingual teaching model across the school (Georgian and English) and combine the best aspects of the Georgian National Curriculum with aspects of British and international school curricula.  These will include IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, and IELTs and SAT preparation. As an equally important aspect of the new vision and direction of the school, the holistic education of students at all ages should be enhanced through pastoral care, leadership development opportunities, extra-curricular challenge, etc… Further to this the school wishes to be seen as a centre of professional development for its Georgian and international teaching staff. The school shares a campus with the British International School of Tbilisi (BIST) which caters for the international community and is staffed by mostly British teachers.

BGA students and staff are committed to supporting the wider community through our wide-ranging BGA community programmes. All teachers also support and contribute actively to our cross-curricular days and weeks, our diverse programme of extra-curricular activities, and the PSHE programme. Secondary teachers will be expected to teach their subjects in line with IB requirements within the Georgian system. The successful candidates will have recent UK/international experience, be highly motivated, well organised and possess UK qualifications (or equivalent internationally recognised qualifications). Experience of delivering IB programmes and an understanding of the benefits and challenges of living in a rapidly developing country is an advantage. Knowledge of Georgian Language is not required.
