We are looking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational practitioner who can engage pupils and drive results in our English Department. Leasowes High School and Sixth Form is a “good school” (Ofsted Dec 2015) and forms part of the Invictus Education Trust which comprises of 6 schools. In our last Ofsted it stated that “Working relationships between pupils and teachers are highly effective and support learning well. Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. They are polite, respectful and courteous”.

The Headteacher and other leaders have transformed the quality of education that the school provides since the last inspection. n Senior leaders in the school have successfully created a shared vision to ‘aspire and achieve’. Expectations of what pupils can achieve have risen and the school is improving rapidly. n The governing body challenges and supports the school well and has made a strong contribution to recent improvements. n Pupils are making good progress in most subjects, including English and mathematics. n The proportion of pupils achieving good GCSE grades, including in English and mathematics, is improving. n Leaders’ high expectations and rigorous checks on the quality of provision have resulted in good teaching, learning and assessment. n Teachers plan lessons that consist of engaging and interesting learning activities that create conditions in which pupils are eager to learn. n Working relationships between pupils and teachers are highly effective and support learning well. n Pupils behave well in lessons and around the school. Leasowes High School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with a Sixth Form situated in Halesowen, West Midlands. It provides 1,190 places for students aged 11-18 when fully subscribed.

Leasowes High School gained academy status in December 2016 and is part of the multi-academy Invictus Education Trust, along with five other schools in Dudley and South Staffordshire. 

Leasowes High School is an ambitious school with a culture of high expectations and a focus on success. Its ethos is based on traditional core values such as fairness, discipline and respect.
