Job overview

We are looking for someone with a passion for English and a strong commitment to making a difference to the lives of our pupils. We require a strong and inspiring classroom practitioner who will ensure that our pupils make outstanding progress across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. We want someone strives for excellence, is keen to keep up-to-date with best practice, and has a drive for continuous improvement to join our strong and supportive team.

If you are a strong, energetic and forward thinking teacher with the capacity to build on the school’s many strengths and if you would like to be part of our innovative team, which consistently produces outstanding results then join us on our exciting journey.

Hollingworth Academy is now one of two schools in the recently formed Hollingworth Learning Trust along with Newhouse Academy. Hollingworth Learning Trust’s core purpose is to make a real positive difference to the lives of its children. Its role as a sponsor of both schools is to provide the support, challenge, expertise and resources necessary to significantly improve the provision for education.

Every school Hollingworth Learning Trust works with is on a journey towards becoming world class. Our Trust exists to support school improvement and share innovation in order to raise standards, improve provision and unlock potential.

Here at Hollingworth Academy, we believe that everyone excels everyday. This ethos is built on our core values of RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY and RESILIENCE and these values are at the heart of everything we do. We want considerate and confident young adults who are respected within their community, capable of successfully entering further education, employment and training. We will always have the highest expectations for all of our pupils, as their success is our success. We are extremely proud of our pupils and their achievements. Indeed, visitors frequently comment that they are confident, respectful, thoughtful and articulate young people.

We heavily invest in our staff with a wide range of professional learning opportunities, which include fully funded Masters Degrees, Teaching Leaders and an extensive range of CPD opportunities throughout the year. In addition, we actively look to develop leadership skills and promotion potential through TLR opportunities. This role is excellent preparation for the post holder to secure promotion in the future

RESILIENCE

Resilience is also necessary in developing the grit and determination to persevere both at an individual level but also in the pursuit of personal values and beliefs.
