Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher of English to join this oversubscribed and successful school.   Required for September 2018, we are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and well qualified teacher to join a lively and forward thinking English faculty.  English is a high profile subject and both English Literature and English Language are popular at A level.  The faculty is at the forefront of creative approaches to teaching and learning and offers an excellent range of extra-curricular opportunities.

Farlingaye is a popular and successful 11-18 school in Woodbridge, a pleasant market town situated on the River Deben in Suffolk and just 7 miles from Ipswich.  It is a dynamic and creative school with experienced and skilled staff, excellent resources, and engaged and energetic students who regularly achieve great results. We are a Teaching School and a Leading Edge school.  In April 2013, Ofsted again graded us outstanding in every category.  We are committed to developing and promoting our staff and have an excellent CPD and support programme for new staff.   It would, therefore, be suitable for both NQTs or a colleague seeking to broaden their experience.

For further details on the role and to apply for this vacancy, please visit the school website http://www.farlingaye.suffolk.sch.uk/.  Should you wish to discuss the role in further detail, please contact Andy Sievewright, Headteacher at the school.

Closing Date: 12 noon on Friday 23 February 2018.

Our vision at Farlingaye is very clear.  We want our students to be taught by brilliant teachers, to learn to love different subjects, and to develop a sense that they are part of a wider community where their actions matter and their contribution is valued.

We want our students to excel here, to gain the skills and develop the qualities needed to go on and succeed in their future roles and careers beyond Farlingaye.  We also want to foster the passions and interests that our students hold in the future, by offering a chance for our students to involve themselves in a broad range of extra-curricular provision that enables them to participate in activities that develop resilience, teamwork and a sense of pride. We are hugely proud of what’s on offer at Farlingaye, from the range of sporting opportunity through to the music, art and drama that so many participate in.  Our aim therefore is to ensure that Farlingaye is a beacon of excellence in all it does.  As a staff we strive to ensure that every area of our school is the best it can be, and are committed to being restless in order to achieve this goal.  We are humble, keen to learn from others and aim to keep developing.
